Draft: Today is the 53rd day after Wenchuan earthquake. The stage is set to recollect the vivid scenes during the calamity, in particular the disaster relief assistance of social strengths. On July 5th, Xijin Jia, vice dean of NGO Research Institute of Tsinghua University, took the above words as the opening of her presentation in Yanshan Mountain Lectures organized by China University of Political Science and Law and TECENT.com.
Jia began her speech from two maps that indicated that many NGOs, social organizations and volunteers rushed to every corner of disaster area as well as fresh troops and government assistance. Over 120 NGOs took part in the disaster union organized by Beijing Narada Foundation. In Sichuan province, NGO Disaster Relieving United Office, 5.12 Social Assistant Service Centers and other private organizations stationed in the disaster relief site.
Jia’s emphasis on the NGO’s, united, professional and high-speed, reaction time will be a maintaining feature. High-speed characteristics are used to describe the efficiency of our action. The volunteer group arrived at the disaster site initially with the armed forces. Additionally, a majority of social organizations, large and small, united and cooperated fully with each other; furthermore, NGOs focused on silent action in order to provide more professional assistance; Finaly, since the beginning of relieving action, many NGOs still worked hard in the relief field and some others established permanent offices there.

While talked about the hard work of NGOs during disaster assistence, they also delivered their own thoughts and opinions.
